My Top 5 Favorite Online Activewear Brands
If you’re anything like
me, you find tons of inspiration, specifically clothing inspiration, from
social media. And, well, since we’re living in the greatest age ever - aka the
age of athleisure - aka a time when you can wear workout clothes even if you
aren’t headed to gym, it only seems appropriate to highlight a few activewear brands that are killing the game on social media. Here is a list of my top
5 favorites:
1)
Gymshark
This
brand knows what they are doing. Without any brick and mortar locations besides
the occasional pop up shop, they have become one of the fastest growing and
most recognizable fitness brands in a relatively short period of time. Their
digital presence has had a huge hand in that. Not only do they have a strong
brand presence, they have gained a significant following by their use of
influencer marketing.
2)
Alo
Yoga
Now
listen, I have never done real yoga and I don’t pretend to know a thing about
it. Alo gets me interested by highlighting their products as the perfect pieces
to wear for the studio or the streets, and I couldn’t agree more. Now c’mon,
take one glance at their aesthetic on Instagram and tell me you aren’t
channeling your inner yogi already… yeah same.
3)
Til
You Collapse
What’s
better than a family run business following a big dream? Dare I say really cute
workout leggings that don’t require a physical store to fly off the shelves. This
small company is finding success with the use of influencers and consistent
posts across their social channels.
4)
P’tula
Brand
new, founded just a year ago in 2016, this company is making waves because it
was created by an influencer who had already established her credibility. It is
thriving as an online only shop largely due to the work that the creator, Sami,
has put in on her social channels.
5)
JFitness
Wear
Another
brand that has found great success simply by marketing through digital
channels. They’ve created enough buzz through their affiliates to get people
(like me) who may have never known they existed, interested in purchasing.
If you can look past the
classics like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armor, who obviously use digital
marketing to their advantage to sell their merchandise, there are some
incredible small activewear brands. The success of these companies listed is
especially incredible to me because some of them don’t even have a physical
brick and mortar store; their success as a brand comes solely from eCommerce. Except
for the occasional pop up shop, these companies are depending on social media
and word of mouth almost exclusively to make a profit. It just goes to show how
powerful these tools are in today’s market.
